Impact and Opportunities from Manchester Police Athletic League
September 2026
STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Miss Ginny
If you’ve walked through the doors at MPAL, chances are you’ve been greeted by Miss Ginny! As our lead front desk staff member, she welcomes kids and families, keeps registrations on track, answers countless questions, and has lovingly earned the title of “the enforcer”—because everyone knows who’s really in charge of the front lines at MPAL! Ginny has been part of the MPAL family for many years, and that connection runs deep, with her own grandchildren growing up as MPAL participants and Teen Ambassadors. We’re so grateful for the warmth, humor, and dedication Miss Ginny brings to MPAL every day!
YOUTH SPOTLIGHT
Minen
Minen has been part of the MPAL family for years, participating in everything from Indoor Soccer and Cooking to our vacation programs. Kind, thoughtful, and incredibly selfless, she is often the first to ask an adult or another child, “How can I help?” Her willingness to look out for others and lend a hand wherever she can makes Minen a wonderful example of the values we hope to see in all of our MPAL kids. We’re so proud to celebrate her this month!
September Highlight
Sometimes the best introduction to MPAL comes from our own kids! This month, a new family registered with MPAL and jumped right into Boxing Level 1 after hearing about us from a young person who participated in our summer program. We love seeing those connections come full circle—and welcoming new kids and families into the MPAL community!
FINAL CALL!
20th Annual
Footrace for the Fallen
September 27, 2026
Join MPAL in honoring the memory and sacrifice of fallen first responders.
“September always feels like a fresh start—not only for our kids heading back to school, but here at MPAL too. As our fall programs get underway, I love seeing familiar faces return, new kids walk through our doors, and our building once again become the busy after-school gathering place we know and love.”
WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Give your time
We’re looking for volunteers to help with upcoming Holiday events.
We’re excited to welcome Meg Distler as one of MPAL’s newest volunteer coaches, lending her time and talents to both Boxing and S.H.E.! When she’s not at MPAL, Meg serves as a prosecutor with the Major Crimes Unit at the County Attorney’s Office—and when she does get some free time, her favorite place to be is out hiking with her puppy, Ranger. We’re so grateful to have Meg sharing her energy, experience, and encouragement with our kids.
Our doors are open — come see us!
Everything MPAL does happens at 409 Beech Street, and the best way to understand what we do is to walk through the door.
