They understand the importance of not giving up and persisting when things become difficult or do not go in the direction they thought they would. They are accountable for their choices and decisions and work to make healthy choices for themselves as they know that their actions impact all of those around them.

Compassion
The MPAL Kid of the Month/Kid of the Year is kind and careful with both others and themselves. They demonstrate what it is to care for others and help out when someone is in need. They show understanding with others by accepting apologies, not holding grudges, and showing gratitude.

MPAL selects a Kid of the Month and Kid of the Year to recognize those who are setting an example for their peers and their community. Coaches will nominate kids they think deserve this recognition and an outside panel will determine the monthly and annual recipients. One recipient will be chosen each month for the Kid of the Month and one recipient will be chosen each year for the Kid of the Year.
